New LG Chocolate Touch for just Everything

Few years back I had to take my laptop everywhere I go. And with those heavy laptops of those days, traveling with comfort was unimaginable. Well there was no alternatively for that because it was the only way or a device portable enough to carry, that can be used for keeping in touch with your friends, colleagues, and friends. And days before laptops, this was a complete no. Though there were mobile phones that could fill some of the need to keeping in touch, they were not technologically advance enough for any other things than for calling and messaging. Reading emails, chatting with your buddies, and keeping track of your work was just not possible. And finally if you were on long travel then you had to carry an extra bag full of gadgets like cameras, laptop, diaries, music players, etc. But now I just have a single phone in my hand while traveling which does everything- Facebook, Orkut, chat, make calls, post photos, send texts, use the internet, take pictures or video and listen to music. I no longer need my extra bag full of gadgets or the laptop and so no more back pain.

LG has come up with this amazing phone. Though no phone is perfect, the new LG Chocolate Touch is certainly for me. It satisfies all my needs. What I like of this phone is the Dolby Mobile sound system built into it, which no other phone till date has. It’s so beautiful to listen to it. You feel as if you are listening to home-theater system. Another important thing of music system is that it has built in mechanism that is in sync to music beat which makes the phone vibrate to rhythm of music. As like other phones it has a built- in 3.2 Mega Pixel Camera (but with image editor), which can record both still as well as video. Not yet over, it has One-touch Social Network Message Key to post to blogs, facebook, orkut, twitter etc, which I use the most - throwing away my laptop. You can easily customize the screens with drag and drop. Other than this as a phone, supports top-notch text, picture, video, and voice messaging and mostly importantly a Visual Voicemail.

Free GPRS on BSNL

To get free GPRS on BSNL mobile
1.Create two connections with different name like ”BSNL Portal” and ”CELLONE Portal” with ollowing configuration
Access point name- ”celloneportal”
Proxy service Address- ”192.168.51.163”
Proxy port- ”8080”
Security- ‘Normal’
Rest fields to be as it is

2. Now open phones default input browse and select any of the 2 configuration created to access the web. You will now access only bsnl home site.

3. Now keep browser working and open another browser for full internet access like opera. In these browsers. Use the 2nd configuration this time you will get an error message like ” ACCESS DENIED ”. You are ontrack.

4. Keep both browsers working in background and open connection manager just disconnect the connection that is not working.

5. Again open opera from background that you are using to connect with default inbuilt browser to connect to internet

6. Sure this time you are connected with full access

Windows Mobile: Stuck at Screen Alignment?

This tutorial will show you how to bypass Screen alignment on Windows mobile. Sometimes your digitizer can malfunction or screen can get cracked but still you can use the Phone. In such case if you hard reset you’re your PDA you will encounter screen alignment wizard at the welcome screen which is impossible to get rigid. Only options left are- replace the screen or bypass the screen alignment wizard. Off course your touch screen will not repair itself by doing this, but you can use much of the functionality of your PDA.

There is a hard way to bypass the screen alignment wizard by deleting welcome file from start folder of your PDA. But here you will encounter lots of file permissions. So let us not use it.

• Connect your Phone to your PC using active synchronize. (It works even when you are stuck at alignment screen)
• Download Remote Screen Alignment
• Install and run this program on your PC
• Choose SKIP to avoid the Align Screen Wizard. Program has few features that you might want to use in the future.
• Restart the phone and you are done.

Incase your screen is badly aligned (if touch screen works); you can start alignment wizard from settings and do few taps. Yes you will not come out of the loop. So press any key like Screen off button, Windows or restart the phone.

Apple iphone 3G...The worst phone!

When Iphone 3G was introduced,people were surprised. It costs less than half the price of original first iphone. This raised doubt in my mind,as how it can be possible. And if it is why didn`t they do it before?But here is the real thing. Though apple hides these facts,it comes out easily once use it regularly.

Disadvantages

1. No video calling, no AD2P on the Bluetooth, can’t share any(mp3, images, videos…) files via bluetooth.
   
2. Can’t use as a wireless modem, (you pay ridiculous data charges to activate internet on your phone, but cannot connect it to your PC and browse when you are at home)
   
3. All even the smallest copy and paste,(cannot copy a part of a.. say… email & send it.Have to type it out yourself)
   
4. No 3.2 or 5 megapixel camera,(the 2MP camera it carries is worst camera i’ve ever seen.. photos look like they have come out of a VGA camera)
   
5. No video recording with camera, no front camera, no flash.
   
6. No JAVA support
   
7. No physical keyboard
   
8. No removable battery. You cannot change battery. Have to send it to apple outlet.
   
9. No haptic feedback and cannot send MMS.
   
10. Can’t be used as external storage device.16 GB of utter waste..next time you go to your friend’s house & find some interesting songs, movies, etc…sorry you cannot connect your ‘16 GB’ phone and share it!!!! Apple apparently has a solution.. ”BUY MUSIC & MOVIES FROM iTUNES STORE “
    
11. No FM radio, can’t use your mp3 files as ringtones.
    
12. Cannot insert any other SIM card.
    
13. Completely tied to iTunes.Connect to your friend’s iTunes & you risk erasing everything on your phone and much much more

But if you own iphone 3G,do not worry,because a third party software or a mod is going to be released,adding these absent functionalities and features. But for sure apple will not allow this.

I was getting frequent messages on mobile mobile.So I had a try.Its sms 2.0
Now with web 2.0 the age of sms 2.0 has come.
We all are getting bored of sending all those messages we call SMS, in the simillar fashion over and over again. Now SMSing getting cheaper and cheaper, we all want to do more than just message our buddies. Airtel SMS 2.0 promises to do just that. It is real fun using SMS 2.0 on your Airtel mobile phone. It has got some really cool and fun features like the ability to send 28 different cool emotion icons (that is emoticons)and 15 different font colours.






What is the fun of using a mobile phone when we can't see the latest Scores. We are Indian and proud to have Cricket as more than just a game. With Airtel SMS 2.0, you can view live cricket scores, download latest songs, ringtone, MP3 all that for free.

To use this service on your Airtel Mobile Phone, you will have to go to this website(or you might have already received the sms)and enter your 10 digit mobile number. They will SMS you the details on how to download the application for your mobile phone. Or, if you choose other method, type 'SMS2' on your mobile phone and send it to 543210. You get the download link direct on your mobile phone.

All you have to need to run this application on your Airtel mobile phone is a GPRS connection and a supported phone. The list of compatible phones is given below or can be found on this page.

Access your PC from anywhere in the world using your phone

SoonR is a web service that uses your mobile browser to extend phone’s capabilities in may ways, not the least of which is making cheap International calls using Skype and accessing your PC’s files and Outlook.

SoonR uses the features that are already built into your phone. It is the only service that enables standard mobile phones to use the applications on PCs in an optimized way. Convert your Nokia N73 to Nokia N73 Music Edition

Download and install: Nemesis Service Suite and the latest Nokia Software Update.

1. Connect your phone and wait for Windows to install the drivers.
2. Open Nemesis Service Suite and click “Scan for new device” on the right-upper part of the window
3. Click on the icon “Phone info”
4. Click on “Scan”
5. Change the product code to 0539343 and mark the case “Enable”.
6. Press “Write”, and your phone’s product code will be changed (you might think that nothing happened, because the phone is still in normal mode, and the changing of the product code only takes a couple of seconds, but don’t worry, the product code changed !).
7. Close Nemesis Service Suite and run the Nokia Software Update.
8. Make sure not to touch the cable or the phone while your phone is updating or else you will break it!
9. That’s it! When you restart your phone, it should now be the Nokia N73 Music Edition.

I just want to point out how risky this can be considering the future:
Say that you choose to change the product code to something else and then Nokia later decide to take the current product code away from NSU since they notice many people are changing this code….what will you do then if your phone goes dead?
You can no longer update the phone via NSU and if you turn to a Nokia servicepoint they will notice that your product code in the phone is different compare to the one on the label on the backside of the phone…this means that they most probably will deny to give you service since you have done something with the phone that isn´t allowed.
Next step, by a new phone !
I would say, very risky.

Couple of tips :

1) Ensure that your phone is in general profile
2) DONOT touch the phone/cable while update is going on
3) Keep the charger plugged in all the time
4) Take a backup of all the data
5) Do the backup on either on Saturday or Sunday night . This is because in case it becomes a brick u can go down to Mobile repair shop and get it reflashed :).
6) In case the update failed.. KEEP RETRYING..
7) If something is not working properly after the update do an update again.

How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone *#06#
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

World wide emergency number for Mobile

Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself
out of the coverage area of your mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

free bsnl gprs internet

Bsnl server has a major bug in it, by which it fails to block two simultaneous connections from the phone and establishes a connection with full internet working.Old scrap sever running on sun os.

For connection on your mobile phone.


1) Make two connections like BSNL111 and BSNL222


2) Select the application you got to have the full connection working on.

Surpassingly “web” now just select “BSNL111” profile and select a link like wap.cellone.in the page will get open,

just press the red button such that the “web” application goes in the background.

Make sure that the gprs connection is still established with the web app.

Two parallel lines on the top left of the screen will confirm this



3) Now open any other app that requires web connection like opera. Select BSNL222 and open any other link like

wap.google.com, u will get AN error.

the aim of using the other app is to perform multi-channel gprs,

this is verified by seeing some dots on the pre-existing connection established by “web”

ACCESS DENIED.

403 Forbidden - You are not allowed to communicate with the requested resource.”

4) close opera and open web and open a site like esato.com

5) if everything is done as said here then esato will load and Thats it! We have the whole internet!


For connection on pc.

1)create a connection and enter the number to be dialed as *99***1#

2) enter the string as extra initialization command

3)now dial from pc, the connection will be established

4)pick the phone and open “web” open “wap.cellone.in” the phone shows error .

5) close “web” and then from the browser open
and thats it ! The whole internet is here .

Using your Nokia N95 as external GPS receiver

If you own a Nokia N95 ,then you can add GPS navigation to the PC(or any other) through Bluetooth connectivity. Simply download and install the Symarctic ExtGPS application on your Nokia N95. This will actually work with the Nokia E90 or 6110 devices too as they have integrated GPS receivers, but I don’t have them to test the application. Symarctic ExtGPS is primarily designed for you to use a Windows, Mac, or Linux PC with your S60 device as the external GPS receiver.However, besides just pairing via Bluetooth for the GPS receiver I also needed to pair the two in order to use the Nokia N95 as a wireless data modem.To get this working simply launch Symarctic ExtGPS on your Nokia N95 after making sure that the Bluetooth radio is on for both the N95/S60 device and your PC or any device that you want to use GPS on it

Using Vodafone gprs connection on your computer

This trick is for the Vodafone guys in India.You might be strugling to use vodafone gprs internet on your pc.If you ask vodafone guys,they will say you can`t use your gprs on the PC.But you can. here`s a solution.

• Connect your phone to the PC(Using bluetooth,use cable,IR)
• Go to your phone modem option-advanced commands and input this script AT+CGDCONT=,,"portalnmms" or just change the access point to "portalnmms"
• Dial the connection
• Once it shows connected.Open your browser(I recommend Firefox or Opera) go to proxy settings.Add this proxy sever 10.10.1.100 port 9401.

Thats it.Now you can use the internet on your PC.But be carefull with your phone bills

folder lock

You can lock and unlock your folder with this simple trick !

Procedure :
1. Make a folder on the desktop and name it as "folder"
2. Now, open notepad and write ren folder folder.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} and now (Notepad Menu) File>save as.
3. In the 'save as' name it as lock.bat and click save ! (Save it on Desktop)
4. Now, again open notepad again and write ren folder.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} folder and now (Notepad Menu) File>save as.
5. In the 'save as' name it as key.bat and click save ! (Save it on Desktop)
6. Now, double click lock.bat to lock the folder and now if you open your folder, control panel will open up !
7. Now, double click key.bat to open the folder and now if you open your folder, you can access your data inside the folder again !
8. Lock your folder and hide the key.bat somewhere else on your hard disk !
9. Whenever you want to open your folder just paste the key.bat on desktop and open your folder using it !

Formatting Nokia(60xx) phones

To do a full phone formatting on your phone as steps below;

1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left.
2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card.
3. Switch-off your phone.
4. Press and hold these 3 keys; Green dial key, * (star key) and no. 3 key and then press the power on/off to switch on the phone.

Remember, do not let go all of the keys, hold until you see a formatting word screen show!

5. After a few minutes when the full phone formatting completed, your phone will be back to original system and factory setttings.


Normal Reset *#7780# : Restores ini files from rom but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)
Hard Reset *#7370# : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.

Airtel gprs tricks

This trick is for the guys in India.Purchase one airtel SIM.Activate NOP.This will cost you Rs 5 per day.

For using internet on the computer through your cellphone,you will need to connect your phone to your pc.Use usb cable,bluetooth dongle or infrared.Once connected to the computer,install opera browser.Then go to advance option of your phone modem in device manager and paste this script AT+CGDCONT=,,"airtelwap.com" .Now connect to the internet by dialing.It will show this message connected at 115.5 kb/secs.Thats just the speed between PC and your phone.Then open opera.You will see nothing opens.Now go to preferences in opera.Then to advance tab and then to network.Click proxy servers.Add this proxy ip:100.1.200.99 port:8080.Now you have internet on your computer.Configure your applications to use this proxy.
